Your music stays on your computer.

Hand separation, fingerings, editing, playback and exports run in the desktop app. We do not upload your MIDI files, recordings or projects for generation.

Trial and activation

The free trial allows five successful hand-split generations per computer. Trial requests send a hashed computer identifier, a fingerprint of the MIDI file, and generation receipts so the service can track remaining uses. These are identifiers, not copies of your music. Optional fingerings for trial results are included.

Activating a paid product key sends the key and the computer identifier to verify the purchase. The app stores a signed license in your operating system’s protected credential storage. Once activated, paid generations work offline.

Payments

Checkout is disabled in this approval preview. When sales open, Stripe handles payment information. Split stores an order reference, purchase status and email for fulfillment and support; card details stay with Stripe. Save your product key after checkout. Automatic key email and recovery are not configured yet.

Website and update requests

Our hosting provider receives information needed to deliver and protect the service, including IP addresses and request details. Short-lived hashed rate-limit records help prevent abuse. Update checks contact the release service; they do not upload music. Automatic update checks can be turned off.
